Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Gather for 10th Annual ConferenceMarquette, MI--About 60 publishers and authors from around the Upper Peninsula gathered at Peter White Public Library Saturday for the 10th Annual Meeting of the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association.
Author and UPPAA President Lisa Shiel welcomed members to the educational conference. Lisa also delivered a How to Create a Blog That People Will Read and Love writing session. Lisa's blog, Backyard Phenomena, explores the paranormal. Her book Backyard BigFoot is available at her blogspot at http://backyardphenomena.blogspot.com.
Keynote speaker Jerry D. Simmons shared wisdom gained from his 25 years in publishing at Random House and the Time Warner Book Group. Jerry worked on numerous bestselling books, including The Celestine Prophecy.
Jerry founded the websites WritersReaders.com and Nothing Binding.com, and the newsletter TIPS for WRITERS. His latest book, What Writers Need to Know About Publishing, gives writers, especially independent publishers and authors, advice and information from an industry insider's view.
